Lots of new electric charging points coming NATIONWIDE!

Postby MB » Sun Apr 06, 2008 7:35 pm

Today, I received this e-mail:

Mike

Louise at The Potteries Shopping Centre has passed your name on to me.

I am the Sustainable Travel Manager for Capital Shopping Centres and have co-ordinated the installation of two Elektrobays at 9 of our shopping centres. As you know we are planning the launch for next Wednesday 9th - there will be a national press release going out on that day with photos from Lakeside Shopping Centre.

I'm interested to know if any electric car owners would like to be involved in any of the other centres by coming along with their car for photo shoots etc!

Dates not fixed but will obviously be fairly soon - in the next week or two.
.
Centres involved are :-

The Glades, Bromley
The Chimes, Uxbridge
The Harlequin, Watford
Victoria Centre, Nottingham
Chapelfield, Norwich
MetroCentre, Gateshead
Braehead, Glasgow

as well of course
Lakeside, Thurrock, Essex
The Potteries, Stoke

We will have the Elektrobay charging cables and keys so no need to worry if they don't have one. We'll be keeping these on-site for free hire.

www.capital-shopping-centres.co.uk for more info of our shopping centres.

Perhaps I could ask you to put this on the forum for me. If anyone is interested could you ask them to initially get in touch with me and we;ll see if a convenient date for both parties can be arranged.

Many thanks
Steve

Anyone interested in supporting this forward looking company?

I would be happy to help at Bromley or Lakeside if a mini-el is considered suitable. It will have to arrive on my trailer though, because although the beastie is fully functional - the range is very poor due to the need for replacement batteries.

Do I need to e-mail anyone direct to arrange a suitable date ?

Do we have any other contact info? I could see me going to the Norwich one as it's my home City. We could certainly turn up - and possibly with the City El?

Can I just crow for a second? Please?

I've just noticed that the company who are doing all these installations are the same people who run the Mall, Cribbs Causeway :)

Oh I feel happy!

Where's the front page? STOP IT! :)

(We need a press release, anyone?)

Just back from a successful charge and launch at Stoke-on-Trent. More details tomorrow as I'm off to work now.
