Re: You will love this!!!

The following issue/topic has been briefly mentioned perhaps a year ago. In case of HV system with a dozen ~48VDC modules (full voltage seen during drive only - broken into modules while charging for safety), would it be still possible to somehow accomodate this very BMS? Theoretically, could there ...

Re: You will love this!!!

Next question. what data available from the Master should I/we log to a PC spreadsheet/data file via the wireless link? I'm assuming here the wireless link is only going to be used when the car is parked up and charging as a safety feature. Pack Voltage? Soc? Charge Current? Battery Temp? Charging ...

Hi, I've not posted in this great thread for a while, great progress. Perhaps in has not been mentioned yet, there seems to be another version inspired by your BMS floating around. It's a Honda HR-V project from Lithuania, details here: http://hr-ev.blogspot.com/2009/01/batteries-are-home.html http:...

Hi Peter, thanks for your hard work on this new version of BMS. I've been following your efforts closely since that last published project on Solarvan website, we exchanged a few emails then.. Please allow for just a few silly questions and ideas: - what are the implication/constraints for using you...

One of the biggest advantages of high voltage - and preferably *AC drive system - is LOWER demand on the batteries. If you recall GM EV-1 or Solectria they were quite fast and reliable even with quality AGM/gem batteries, each cell 12V@50-100Ah not more. So in this way you can get 50-70.000km lifeti...

PIKTRONIK> Great news, pls. utilize this opportunity of personal visit to ask them kindly: 1/ if there is a line of >48V chargers in the pipeline, in particular 72-96V would be the most desirable range, perhaps upto 120V some day? 2/ why are their AC inverters so expensive, that's like pricing for t...

I don't have a personal experience with them but I'm most likely taking the 24V@10A for my next e-bicycle project. You might contact that finish guy from the previous post with the e-yacht project. Or probably the best alternative would be to post a question and/or search the following german forum ...

In terms of smart chargers you might also consider the company Piktronik from Slovenia (EU) - they are a bit pricey but the level of user control via PC/RS-232/Windows software seems to be unprecedented. Supports all major batt. chemistries. They are quite popular with the German EV clubs in particu...

Hi Nikki,

If you look at the tour map there seems to be a small detour for the London area or southern UK.
This will take probably a year or so anyway, so can get ready..

You should definately consider making a headline about that swiss-german SolarTaxi - first expedition around the world in electric-solar vehicle.. I think they already crossed to ME/Asia as they entered Turkey. Check their route though, I'm not sure they plan to visit the UK, after the US segment of...
