Re: Old BMS General Thread
the mechanic is being very slow about getting back to me, so i don't know anything right now other than that picture. he didn't mention that the screen was doing anything like flashing alarms, so i'm guessing that somehow the number of alarms was reset to zero. i don't have access to a working syste...

Re: Old BMS General Thread
I haven't had a chance to mess with them yet, sadly. i've been busy with another competition and finishing school, and now i'm up in greenland with the machine. i'll probably start working with those as soon as next semester starts, as i have a bunch of other modifications i want to do to the machin...

Re: Old BMS Software Thread
okay, so now it turns the loads on. load cut in default is set at 4.1V i sent command 5 three times, to decrease cut in to 3.95V lowest cell is at 4.00 all loads come on when i tell it to start charging, but the charger isn't turned off automatically (which i think it should be, because all the load...

Re: Old BMS Software Thread
do you have an idea of how much current the BMS draws per cell when it's turned off? i used this graph to get an idea of how many aH the low cell is off by: http://www.google.com/imgres?hl=en&safe=off&sa=X&biw=1422&bih=1025&tbm=isch&prmd=imvns&tbnid=Pun4BwltFZHbEM:&im...

Re: Old BMS Software Thread
it works but it's hard to keep cooled. i'm adding a couple of fans to the box though which should help a lot. i need to pull the box apart today and see if the cell is actually low or if the board is just giving me funny readings. cause i expected it to come up more than it did when i tried charging...

Re: Old BMS Hardware Thread
trying to figure out why one of the cells is staying so much lower than the other cells. it's actually 9 cells in parallel so it seems weird that one cell would affect it so much...but as i'm charging it the cell is only just barely coming up, while the others all came up pretty fast. i'm wondering ...

Re: Old BMS Software Thread
Thanks for that! I'll check those as soon as I'm on a computer instead of my phone... Haha. I'm using 7.5 ohm resistors with 4.1 volts on each cell. Probably should have gone with a larger resistor value as suggested, but I wanted to see if this would work

Re: Old BMS Software Thread
This is awesome!! Do u have a list of hardware I'll need? I'm on a time crunch (the machine leaves in two weeks,) but if I could get this working that would be perfect! Right now I'm adding a pair of 19k rpm fans to the BMs box to kee the loads cool during balancing. I can only imagine the scream th...
