Re: Help Needed with Mobility Scooter Batteries

The no load readings are useful, I think we can rule out the scooter overcharging the cells while going down hill. I didn't think it was likely, but needed to be ruled out. As Chris has said we need more information to go any further. I looked on the http://www.hazebattery.com/ website and down the ...

Re: Expert battery advice needed - Aixam Mega City

Secbattery.com may have a suitable replacement. I used them quite a few years ago and found them help.

Re: Help Needed with Mobility Scooter Batteries

I can think of 2 possible causes for the short battery life. The number of charge-discharge cycles a battery can do will depend on how deeply it is being discharged. For example with a 100% discharge the battery may only last a 100 cycles but a 50% discharge may give you 400 cycles (I've just pulled...

Re: Expert battery advice needed - Aixam Mega City

Regarding the charger, Lifepo4 and Pb gel/agm batteries have a very similar charging profile. It may be possible to use your charger with Lifepo4 cells as long as the bms watches the charging and can switch off the charger when any cell reaches full charge. My Matiz has been doing just fine with a Z...

Re: LTC6802 based 12 cell slave.

Here's my current design files in Kicad. It's a bit messy, one day I might tidy it up. I am considering some changes, mainly to drop the 2 RCA connectors for the temperature sensors and incorporate them into the DB15 connector. We only need 13 pins for the cells, which leaves 2 pins for the ...

Re: LTC6802 based 12 cell slave.

Does your 6802 Slave works with peter V2 master board or are you planing to make it work with V3 using your own code? No, the 6802 boards won't work with the existing V2 Master. I am using a Maximite (MM) to talk with the 6802 slaves. This allows quick development because the MM runs a basic interp...

Snap shot of files

Here's my development folder for the 4 cell slave. This is unfinished and untested. There is a software folder, but again this is unfinished and untested. Peter's 12F1822 software may work with these boards but the schematics will need to be compared for pin compatibility. Kicad has been used for sc...

Re: Old BMS Hardware Thread

I've been using Itead and have no complaints. They aren't the fastest, but most of that is the shipping, however the price is right and they did reject one of my early Gerber files because it didn't look right. Turns out I did manage to leave off a footprint, so they do check for basic errors before...

Re: Old BMS Hardware Thread

Hi casemod, I'll upload the slave files when I get a chance, busy getting ready for Christmas at the moment. Peter may have a V2 master pcb, I'm sure he'll be along and let you know if he has any.

Re: Old BMS Software Thread

Ooops, forgot the debug was for the display, I am using degug in my 6802 slave software. :? SERIN2 SlaveBusIn, 16468, 10000, TimeOut, [Command] 'Receive Command Byte on Slave Data Bus Timeout 10s i guess i'm not entirely sure how it all functions still. A breakdown of this command; SlaveBusIn - is t...
