mosfet
Peter, The mosfet I am using is a 30a 60v logic level npn jobbie. The load resistor connects on the screw terminals. I am undecided about what to use but I think I will need to bypass more current than your application as I am guessing that agms will go out of balance more than lovely lithium. 3ohm ...

Those via things were holes and although they had electrical continuity I soldered them through anyway, is this correct?

boards
Peter,
I got the boards from pcb cart, just like you. Including VAT and postage they were £80 for 30 boards.
My proper name is Derek Dillon and I am a mechanical fitter in an oil refinery (boo hiss) .........but if anyone wants to offer me a job in renewables...........

pcb,s
Just ordered 30 slave boards from China and now i'm absolutely bricking it!
Assuming they actually work, I should have 17 spares available for cost price should anyone be bonkers enough to be interested. Maybe best to wait and see though

load resistor
Hi Bob,
Most excellent work. What is the value and rating of your load resistor and where do you get them? it looks like a neat solution.

slave for 12v agm's
I,ve been messing about with the Linux version of Eagle Pcb and have knocked up a new schematic. http://www.dillond1.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/agmslave.png I have used a 14 volt varistor to protect against transients and have used diodes 1,2 and three to tweak the varistor voltage up a little as they hav...

Gotta love children!
PROGRESS REPORT At last, I've knocked up a prototype slave on some breadboard. I've knocked three years off my lifespan by installing windows 2000 onto my spare pc. Yesterday I decided to have a bash at the coding and familiarise myself with the program editor. All the lights in the house went out. ...
