I've been flying R/C on and mainly off for the last 25 years. I prefer sailplanes and electric assist means I can now spend a good hour flying on one charge. Much more relaxed when you don't have to worry about charging in a field etc. 8) I too have one of the mid size electric heli's. Great fun in ...

Team Works Karting in Birmingham have some great karts. They look like they use an Etek type motor on a 48V system.

How about different weight classes?

Hi Paul, When you say "12Kw from the battery ought to give you a 60mph cruise on the flat." am I right in assuming this is not the power out of the motor, just the electrical power in? I only ask because D & D are quoting power out of their ES-31 Sepex motor taking into account electri...

Hi Nikki, What sort of costs have you found for an AC motor and controller? The best I can find is Metric Mind and Evisol. Thier AC motor and inverters are £6K plus batteries. This is 3 or 4 times the cost of a DC setup. http://www.metricmind.com/index1.htm http://www.evisol.com/ac-motors.html Se...

Hi Guy's, Have you considered a SEPEX motor. Sepex motors are almost identical to traditional Series motors except for the way their field is wired and controlled. Unlike the Series motor who's armature and field windings are wired together in series, the SepEx motors field and armature windings are...

Hi Martin, The Netgain Impulse 9 motor is very nice, but I believe it's at its most efficient at high voltages 144V, with a max voltage of 170. For your 60mph requirement, you might need 144V if the vehicle is fully loaded and when it's not you could have a very quick van! We do a 144V 10Ah (159.4V ...
