Most Ive seen has been about 18kwh. Mine uses between .3 and .4 KWh per mile. so generally a 40mile use takes about 12 +kwh. Thats used on a hilly route and doing 45+ on A roads and up to 50 on the A14. Ive just started using another Blingo as well, it will be interesting to see how different this o...

If you do a bit of calculation 18.5kwh of stored power at 72 volts = a significant 256 AH of storage. Thats a serious battery cell (s) . Judging by various cell capacities I have seen commented upon, that equates to a serious number of cells in parallel to get that Amperage capacity. Still you would...

I still have a few 98 cells that seem good with decent voltages. I also have some other Berlingos, that I have bought for spares and as doners for my Electric Multispace. With one vehicle its just on the point of being worth getting back on the road or scrapping. But with current prices and availabi...

I have been using a Wood burner and back boiler for over 10 years to heat my 4 bed house. Its not the hottest of temperatures but its pleasant. We get through about 4.5 tonnes of wood for the whole winter. In the past this has largely been waste from a company that makes wooden windows. This year is...

A recent Peugeot Origin Fuel cell vehicle

The following link is to a company who have developed a range extended Partner, using a fuel cell.
It would be great to get a look at some of the PSA vehicles they have developed.

Duff dc to dc convertor

Recently I have been working on a Blingo that had a problem with the DC to DC controller. The Control unit came from a van with a very very dead battery. I have a spare controller so I have extracted the DC to DC unit. The non working one is dated as 03 and there are some changes. Everything still i...

Flux always used to be the place to go for converted vehicles, and they would always give a quote. They now dont seem to be the same, guess they are now too mainstream. They just put you through to another call centre in Ipswich who pass you on to another Insurance company or just give you a telepho...

I have the peugeot 205 gti 1.6 allys on my Blingo. They look great but are not lighter than std steel. There are two versions, the french SMR ones which I have and some italian Speedline ones which are supposed to be significantly lighter and with a thinner rim are sought by racers as you can use bi...

Similar tale. I have also tried Pluginsure or whatever they are, and they dont do modified vehicles , but would refer it to their insurer, Norwich Union. Nuff said, I didnt bother, NU are rubbish for normal quotes so I didnt go there. I did however suggest that since there are a number of us wanting...

I too am doing the rounds for re-insurance. CO-OP who I was with, wont consider any modifications at all. Footman James will do mods, but wont insure a private person in a van for business use (I need to go to more than one office/ fixed place of work) currently trying the NFU as I have an intro the...
