£3000 does seem rather low Chris. There again if it is actually worth 5K and the insurance company values it at 3K that would be in line with the one and only time I have had a car written off  Methinks it might be a good idea to find a friendly independent assessor who is interested in beco...

I'm still concerned you didnt find anything :? if you had topping up water exiting the center crate drain it must have been coming out from somewhere ??? While you had the top off the pack I dont suppose you ran a volt meter over the batteries to see what they where sat at ?? ChrisB I'm happy to re...

Swap it?
Hi Evan, If looking for a simple test I would first swap the battery for a good one (if I had a spare) and see if it fixes the problem. If it does I think you then know enough about how 'fit for purpose' the existing battery is :) Failing that you can charge the battery and then discharge through a ...

The watering pipe merely pulls off the hard plastic spigot on the Battery case. If you have pulled this out then you will need to separate it from the pipe on the van and put it back into the Battery case before you re-assemble it. It is simply pushed through the case and two simple barbs hold it i...

Good news I think
You cant take the top of the individual battery units, its part of the moulding, Pull each pipe of the cascade off in turn and check that you can pass water through each pipe or blow through them. If you blow be mindful that the contents of the pipe could be caustic and not too nice to get in your ...

Batteries out
Thanks for the help and encouragement guys. Armed with the info above and in http://www.batteryvehiclesociety.org.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?t=666&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=fuse&start=20 I set about dropping the front battery pack to have a look - and found it easier than I fea...

My (somewhat limited) understanding is that a higher voltage pulsed charge is if anything a good thing. My old battery conditioner worked this way to desuplhate tired L/A batteries and had a 5hz frequency - so your 100hz should be no issue. One factor might be that pulse chargers (at least those I h...

Thanks guys. I had a quick look and, no surprise, there isn'y anything visibly amiss from what you can easily see. Time to have a look at the posts about removing packs I guess. It'll be a bit of a problem for me though as this weekend I'm away (not in the Blingo fortunately) and I'm pretty short of...
