fixed I hope

Peter I have updated my drawing including the pulldown resistor on the logic level FET(floating pins not good). I have included a 100uf electrolytic capacitor and a varistor to clamp any voltage spikes, is this roughly what you had in mind? Here is the link to the varistor http://www.rapidonline.com...

oops

You can't drive the interrupt opto of the next slave with that unless you introduce some power. Mine powers the next opto if you look at the schematic. You are correct of course Peter, It just hadn't clicked! I understand now. common mode di/dt rating. Perhaps EVguru could briefly (and in simple te...

agm slave

I've been playing with schematic software (1st time) and can share my rather poor efforts. Borrowing very heavily from Peter, I have tweaked things to be suitable for monitoring 12v agm's I hope. I have not filled in the values of most of the components yet, and I had to use a PIC for the diagram, b...

Program editor

I.ve got the program editor but unfortunately I can't use wine to run it on my linux computer. This means I must torture myself by installing windows on my old computer  The data bus error was an easy one to miss, but I suppose a little jiggery pokery with the interconnecting leads would have ...

28x?

Holy smoke, this project has really grown legs!............the 18x has grown into a 28x  I guess the picaxes are so low priced it is as well to have a degree of future proofing in the hardware. I was wondering if a 2W load resistor is meaty enough, I like bobc's idea of using a logic level FET ...

I ordered a warp9" and zilla Z1K from evparts and would rate them as very reliable. You can basically add 20% on to the price to cover VAT and import duty. They accept paypal too, which I like.

For the anti vibration mounts perhaps you could check out this link to a British manufacturer. I used the company for bushes for my custom front suspension and they were cheap and reliable. http://antivibrationmethods.co.uk/html/bobbin_mount.html If you need to make a vacuum reservoir so that the va...

Wow, that makes my little peabrain hurt! It's slowly sinking in though. Those guys on the picaxe forum are real boffins. For my application I will be monitoring 12v agm's so hopefully I can just power the picaxe through a 5v regulator and feed the analogue input through a voltage divider arrangement...

Basic for donkeys

Hi folks, Peter, could you possibly explain in simple terms, the following bit of the slave code as mathmatical operations have never been my strong point. `Add cell voltage inverting and conditioning `routine here to make cell V value `*25/25 to improve integer math accuracy +- 0.02 RESULT is * 100...
