No reason why not, though I would want to add a thermostat and protection for overcharging the battery.

Jeremy, I notice you have an apparent degradation too. I see more annual variation (shorter journeys than yours and probably colder here too) from low 50s now to low 60s in mid summer, but no significant change over three years - maybe a slight improvement. Odd. Or have you been driving more enthusi...

You don't have sufficiently reliable data to do any curve fitting. To get meaningful results you need to drive boringly round and round a standard level test track with near zero wind and constant ambient temperature. Under real driving conditions you would need hundreds/thousands of miles to averag...

No EV (apart from an ebike) yet, but I've joined the network and so there's now a point in the rather sparse north east about half way between the Thirsk and Newcastle ones. Still rather long hops, but could be useful. We're conveniently only a mile or so off the A1M

I would agree with much of Jeremy's comments on the Prius ( having also owned one for three years now. Our journeys are mostly dog-walking and shopping - typically 5 - 12 miles each way with occasional longer trips at week ends and for holidays. Annual is just over 10000 so I suppose our profile is ...

Likewise the Bosch we have just bought recommends cold but does allow hot up to 60 C.

David I've been experimenting with LED lighting for some time and am rather disappointed to date. The directionality means they are best suited to spots and I have both multi- and single-LED GU10 types in a stairway which for safety reasons is lit almost continuously. The multiple LED versions tend ...

Yes the QC2 looks good, but 50mph (perhaps only 40-45mph up a gradient) isn't quite good enough for my extra-urban driving either. Paradoxically, because it looks like an ordinary car, other road users will expect it to behave as one. There would simply be too much hassle from the commuters who now ...
