Re: Watering SLAs?
On further inspection the round indent thingies are white in colour, while the rest of the plate is blue.

Re: Watering SLAs?
Heh. The top is sealed with glue and pops off easily, it has rubber caps but no valves. Holes are way too small to put fingers in though, I have to use pipettes to top it up. There is indeed a plastic thing below the filler, sort of like a plate with vague round indentations, the water does indeed c...

Re: Watering SLAs?
Oh dear. But the literature I got with the batts (Noblift 28ah batteries from UK Eco scooters btw) did mention something about topping up electrolyte after a year?

Watering SLAs?
Hi folks - I've had my SLAs for a long time - one set I've had for a year and I've already watered, the other set I've had for almost two years and I've watered one of them - slow charging it now (with my nice new CTEK® charger). I plan to charge them all seperately then put them back in the bike on...

Re: Ping Batteries in cold weather
Yeah, I did end up writing to him after all. Costs $1,498 including postage to the UK so I think I'll wait for either a better exchange rate (come on, crazy Republicans! Destroy the economy in order to save it!) or until I have a bit more money. That said it is looking more like a question of when I...

Re: Ping Batteries in cold weather
I am not ready to buy anything, so I don't want to waste his time with what are at the moment speculative enquiries, just wondered if anyone else was having similar thoughts. PS I was thinking (and only thinking due to costs) of 40ah on my other electric moped, which is 48v. Would be funny to try it...

Re: Ping Batteries in cold weather
Is it not possible to get ping to put two (or even more) batteries together under one BMS? For instance, could he not put two of his 20ah ones together in parallel to make a 40ah one under a high rate BMS so they could both be charged by the same charger?

Re: New battery technology claims 300Wh/kg
Main problem I see with advanced batteries isn't that they need to get that much better, but that they need to get cheaper. Hopefully economies of scale will kick in when they start mass producing the Volt next year.
