Thundersky cells

I now have a resource of THundersky 160ah cells as used in the C1, I can supply these at £140 each+ VAT and carriage . I intend to collect my first batch next week (Start of May 2014) so if anyone wants one or more I can add them to my order. These are as supplied by Thundersky so need the initial c...

Re: swapping wet cells for gel..advice needed

I have just swapped out a set of Lead acid cells on an Elelctric Polaris Ranger, for a set of used 200 AH Thundersky cells. The cells dont use a BMS but have been bottom balanced as a pack, and are no where near to being fully charged by the std Lead acid charger. But thats absolutely fine we were n...

SORN and road tax

Until a few days ago, I was unaware that as soon as you declare SORN, the car tax is voided and no longer valid. We put a family car on SORN in Jan with £30 tax paid until September, so little point in cashing it in as the car was to be sold in a few weeks (Original owner died so no insurance) Car p...

Re: UK EVSE Trade Association disapprove DIY Charging Statio

They are missing the point, if parts are not made available, then a number of people will still build these units, so any perceived risk is actually increased not decreased by their action. More to the point is that all of the charge point suppliers/installers are making money not through selling an...

Re: More Belingo van troubles , charging not intialising ?

No reply from Evan, and I dont have enough spares to part with that are fully operational. I can probably cobble one to gether from my parts but thats my only option for a spare so at the moment I dont have a solution. I do intend this week to do a comparison of a working and non working charger to ...

Re: More Belingo van troubles , charging not intialising ?

They dont mind being stored, but dont leave them in the sunlight and heat, if they are out of the van, if in the van, then not a big issue. Only problem is if they are so depleted (Under 100v) as the charger may not come on line. Definitely wont if its down below 70v.

Re: Potential failures

I have mentioned that the inlet plugs can be a problem, with no drain hole, and rotating. But today I came across one that had a poor earth connection. In fact no earth connection to the chassis. I knew it was connected to the chassis, but on taking the undrained plug apart, it was obvious why there...
