Re: EV Fires
Very interesting, particularly Jacks Rickard's comments on the BMS used in the vehicle. I still believe that one of the keys to safer charging is a means of cooling the cells, especially as they're invariable tightly packed into a space without adequate ventilation - and this is not so difficult a t...

Re: EV Fires
True... and of course, that's exactly what happened in this case, but worse than that, even if the owner had had some means by which the BMS could have notified him (a pager or SMS to his mobile), he wold most likely not have been allowed on to the car deck whilst the vessel was at sea. It would sti...

EV Fires
Hi all, Does anyone know what power cell chemistry was in use in the converted Nissan Qashqai, which caught fire during charging on the DFDS ferry "Pearl of Scandinavia", in 2010 ? I ask, as having skimmed through some of the articles and comments on different forums, a number of possible ...

Re: Remy HVH250 group buy.
OK.. no problem.
I asked for a batch price from YASA, so I'll advise as to their response as and when it comes.
Cheers,

Re: Remy HVH250 group buy.
Fair point, but with a product of that pedigree, I would only expect it to go wrong if severely abused. As for a product from this great nation of ours, I suspect the YASA motor will be more expensive, even after factoring in the import duty and VAT - I've submitted an enquiry, so assuming they have...

Re: Remy HVH250 group buy.
Hi Peter, Many thanks for your reply - I will send them a price enquiry. I must say, I wasn't aware they were VAT exempt ! As a matter of interest, and slightly off topic is CP Motors RFTR series, but I have yet to receive a reply to my enquiry... http://www.cpmotors.eu/en/elektromotoren/ ...and Ash...

Remy HVH250 group buy.
Dear All, I write to ask if anyone would be interested in joining a group buy of the Remy HVH250-090PO motor. They are expensive as single units, but batches of 10 or more attract a discount from the supplier of 20%. The supplier's web-page is http://www.vaxosystems.com/store/products/104-hvh250-090...
