Thank you both. I have done 850 miles since new brushes were fitted, I checked them at 388 miles and they looked fine, bedded nicely and not much wear. Charging at more than 50% can result in it not recieving a full 100% charge on the meter, have you noticed that it effects the range as well i.e only charges to say 90% and this has a knock on of 10% reduction in range ? situation of work being only say ten miles, coupled with occasional power loss...
