I have now built my charger cut-off unit, I have set it to stop the charger at 14v.
I have tested it and I'm pleased to report that it works

Re: Lifepo4 charging
Thank you for all the information. I have just got my hands on a combo meter sent from china. I struggled a bit with the instructions but I think I understand how to connect it. I now need to buy a relay, and some other bits and pieces, as well as a small box to keep every thing tidy. Apparently you...

Re: Lifepo4 charging
I have now found the Junsi celllogger. Hobbyking sell them, they look interesting but so far I have been unable to find out how to make a circuit with one to cut off a charger. I can solder Ok, indeed I built the bargraphs but I had plans to work off.

Re: Lifepo4 charging
Thank you for that info. Could not find anything on junsi cellloggers. Ebay has some programmable combo meters, don't know which is the best, but the cheapest one may do. That one costs £16 item number 171523222609. They say it can switch on/off a rely(not supplied)to prevent over charging. A circui...

Lifepo4 charging
Hi, I own a City-el vehicle which runs on 48v. These vehicles normally have three 110 ah lead acid batteries, a few years ago I added a forth lead acid battery which improved range and speed. I have now replaced this extra battery with four Lifepo4 cells of 60ah each. I am currently using a lead aci...

Re: swapping wet cells for gel..advice needed
Wet lead acid batteries like the T105's need to have a gassing charge every few cycles.
Sealed lead acid's do not, so they will tend to dry out.
When I replaced the wet batteries on my city-el vehicle with Haze agm units I also replaced the charger with ones designed for sealed lead acid.

Led bar-graph battery moniter
Hi, I have now built four led bar-graphs for my 48v city-el, so I can monitor the voltage sag of each 12v battery as I drive. I have fitted them, along with the ammeter into a unit which I also constructed. The Haze 110 ah agm units are now 3 years old and have done approx. 3,250 miles. There is no ...

Re: Poor battery life
I got the idea for the bar graph's from evconvert. The description of how to make them is very good, so some weeks ago I made one. The bar graph worked but the voltage span was only about 1.5v, so if I set the top led to come on at 13v the bottom led would come on at 11.5v. The span I was looking fo...

Re: Poor battery life
It is now one year and a further 1,200 miles since I wrote about the apparently failing batteries in my city-el vehicle. During the past year the batteries stopped deteriorating which surprised me, I put this down to my ammeter not being all that accurate and also lower battery temperature having a ...
